I love this idea Kalaris. It would not break game balance and would add gold sinks. Brilliant.

Are you listening Anet?

I read through a lot of the suggestions but I didn't read them all and didn't notice this...

As a Ranger it would be good to have a Kennel for animals, I have a 17 lvl lynx, but would like a warthog, or other animals I saw.

Also, in Keeping with the game mentality...

it would make sense that a Snow wolf would fare better in the snow and not so well in the desert, as a jungle cat would not do too well in the mountains, thus it would make sense to want to arm yourself with the appropriate companion without selling them and leveling up from 5 when you are in the higher levels.

I really do enjoy the game and look forward to whats coming next.

I agree with all of the above, but would like to see something else implemented: I like making cool screenshot, and showing them off to my guild. I would like to see that, inside the hall, there are paintings, with a number next to them (or only when u hover ur mouse over them). when u double click on it, u would see the screenshot assigned to this painting, by typing something like /screen2 14 (this would upload your 14th screenshot (called gw014 in your screens folder) to painting 2 on the wall, so everybody can see your art. I know this will probably never be implemented, but who dares, wins.

Now, think of what you're saying though. That means that only the people who farm constantly and make money that way will have the good halls, encouraging it even more (directed to the buying of npcs idea). But I do have an idea myself. What if there was a storage, very large, that the entire Guild Shares, but the leader has to enable the account to be able to access it so that new recruits don't go in and steal and take off. Or maybe like some sort of a donation bank, where everyone can deposit, and the only the leader can withdraw. That would help Guilds save up easier. Extra gold? Just toss it into the donation bank!

Well instead of just offering it to guild halls.

They should put ghost in guilds halls that have mission only for the guild.

Each Mission or quest could be set up like the uw/fissure to where the guild has to pay like 5k to do the mission and if you beat it then the guild gets a reward.
Examples
1.storage in guild halls
2.merchant in guild halls
3.dye traders in guild halls
4.weapons crafters in guild halls
5.so on & so on...........

The makers of GW could go to a endless amounts of missions just for the guild beefing up there guild hall into a small town.

They could even make missions to where the guild hall could enable
1v1
2v2
3v3
4v4
5v5
6v6
7v7
8v8
so that the guild hall can get together and work on tactics and test certain builds.

i could keep going and going on this but i think you get the general idea of what could be done for those that either worked so hard to the 80k to get a guild hall or worked so hard to earn it from the HoH.

I just had a post about this a few days ago, and it seemed in general the idea was not like. I'm glad to see someone continue on!

Yes, the Guild Hals need some sort of "face lift", like for one..... somehow to get the Storage Agent in a guild hall

I really like that guild-only mission idea Rfox!

ty

and that is why i stress this:

guild halls = guild members
guild members= guild wars

I also have other ideas as well for the guild halls example:

1.missions to get each staue in temple of ages. That way your guild can get together and goto the UW or Fissure. (only when your country has the favor)

2.more missions to upgrade your upgrades example:
start off with mission to earn a storage vault that holds 20 items.
the next storage mission if you beat it will give your guild hall 30 item storage
and so on and so forth.

But PLEASE areanet if you read this plz plz plz make the mission challaging not like the new mission you put in the temple of ages. that mission was way way way to easy.

If this was a petition by now I would have opened 100 GWGuru forum accounts and petitioned at least twice on each one!! (this is a joke, dont try it at home)

But seriously, you couldnt be any more correct about the Halls...

I seriously feel pity for those who have enterd the SIGIL CONTEST.. Imaging the excitment of winning your own hall... only to realise that they dont do a thing!.. even when you do guildbattles.. the chances of you fighting on your own island is pretty remote (from my experience)

If you want to meet up its best to meet up at Lions arch by the fountain, at least when there you may get a bit of recognition.. but only if someone notices the same cape a few times.

But its not just about the Guild Halls is it really?

The game is CALLED Guild wars... the emphasis is on GUILDS, but there is nothing.. nothing at all apart from the rankings which alows you any kind of guild fame or individuality.

consider the Guild 'TAG'... you cant tell what the name of the guild is unless you ask!

When you step into any city you dont get the feeling that you are in a bustling envoiroment of competing Guilds.. some famous some not.. I dont look at a cape and think to myself... omg thats Blardy Blah Guild... they own! Would love to challenge them!!..

Guilds at the moment just seem to be a collection of friends from previous games.. I find it near enough impossible to get ALL of our guild members to join up for guild battles, if the Guildhalls had even HALF of the suggestions in this thread then members would start taking PRIDE in their guild, and Fight FOR THE GUILD and not just something to do inbetween unlocking runes and skills.

so YES... BETTER GUILD HALLS PLEASE (even if you put noughts and crosses in there ffs)

I've been to my guild hall about two times and it has seemed like there is no purpose to it . There should be other stuff to do there then just look at the scenery, and look at the henchmen.

I support having a guild storage agent, but I think there would be people who would join a guild just to camp it and get all the items.
I also think having guild missions would be very fun, although if it would have the whole guild participating then it would be impossible as whole guilds can never be on at the same time.

through a recruitment process or trial period instead of just letting any ol tom dick and harry in your guild

I also agree with these suggestions, especially the inclusion of mini games and traders inside guild halls, maybe even at a stretch a materials only storage bay that your whole guild can access and share, limit it to say 500 to stop too severe hoarding. I would also like to see more of my guold in the guild hall, and by that I mean I want our banner and stuff flying from the roof so it looks like our guld hall not a guild hall.
The guild hall just needs to be more end of story.

What I think would be simple and great for the guild hall would be adding storage. Too many times do I have to warp to another location just to get out items I need to trade w/ guild members at the hall.

I love the idea of being able to test skills and have fun PvP battles with Guild Mates.

I fully agree with just about everything in this thread. I do however see a small probelm in its implementation from the a-net point of view. Lets say my guild buys the merchants for my island, We have the rune and dye vendors, we have the weapons customize guy. But I seriously doubt they could let a guild have an armor crafter. Think, runsh yourself out of pre searing jump to your guild hall where you have waiting all the money and materials you need to make your newbie monk a full set of platemail. would cause a disadvantage to the less fortunate guilds, so i don't see armor crafters on guild islands but almost everything else should be able to go smoothly.

Also a solution to the guild vault senario. Have 3 levels of vaults. Member vault which is where you throw the whoever wants it grab it items. Officer vault where some of the more valuable and tempting to steal items would go(ie that nice crystal sword we picked up in our last dragon cave run) and the Guild Master Vault which hold things like Sup runes of vigor and the " this would probally sell for 150k" items.

Member vault would be freely accessible by all. someone abuses it they get kicked out no big deal no guild wants someone they cant trust.
Officer Vault would be only available to the officers and guild leader. i say this because in a guild the guild leader recuits people he gets along with, some of those people he comes to trust and decides to place them in a position of leadership by making them officers. The guild leader only vault is as such because if someone is willing to place an item in the guild leader vault then they themselves dont want it and the guild leader can say hold a competition for who actually gets it. I only suggest this becausein a guild if you cant trust your officers and your guild leader .. why are you in the guild???

Digging an older post out of the grave to keep it active...

RFox's ideas about the Guild-only missions is the best I've seen so far. Not only would it add to your guild hall... you'd also gain experiance, loot, and it creates a reason for guild members to be on at the same time. Someone that isnt as lazy as me needs to make a petition out of those ideas.

TrueLoki: Arent armor crafters restricted by your level also? If you got out of presearing at lvl3 and went to your guild hall, you still wouldnt even be able to buy the lvl5 armor, correct? Not sure if it still works like that.

Also... Loki's version of the storage system sounds great also. Keeps the random people from joining your guild just to horde your stuff.

I'm all for the additions to Guild Halls. They could have atleast made the flags look like our capes.

Guild halls are empty because there is nothing to do, I think they should expand the idea of guild halls a tremendous amount. The game is "Guild Wars", and guilds are nothing but clans that have capes. Here are a few of my suggestions for guild halls.

1. Have the hall you purchased start out very small, and you use large amounts of steel, iron, cloth, wood, ect and you can build sections depending on what you want. That way sigils would be a lot cheaper and lower guilds could battle but the "elite" guilds would have cool halls.

2. There should be some sort of time passing game or small little activity that the guild hall should have. Probably something like checkers or chess that they would have back then.

3. There should be challenged that characters can complete for fun, maybe if they complete all of them they get some sort of badge or item or small amount of gold . A few ideas I had were
--A race, racing another monster or going through a track.
--Trying to inflict as much damage as you can on a monster for a period of time.
--Maybe each character would have a seperate challenge, rangers shoot off a rampart and try to hit oncoming enemies, monks try to heal a NPC while enemies bombard them, warriors try to take on as many enemies as they can.

4. Guilds should have NPCS, merchants skill traders storage ect, that would make it easier if your staying there.

5. There definately should be some area where Guild members can fight eachother. They can 2v2 or 8v8 fight henchmen ect, also you could have 1v1's that would make recruiting new members more accurate.

Those are some of the ideas I had, I know some of them cant work out and my point isnt to have the activities critiqued but i wanted to get the point across the guild halls need to be better.

WOW this is exactly what i was about to say... i was gona right a post exaclty like this, my friends and i have been saving up for a guild hall and once we bought one it ended up being some lame piece of crap. we knew it was for fighting but i thought u were able to do thigns like 1v1 or buy furniture... this is like the millionths post of this, yet a nets not changing anyhting.... argggggg they should do it now fix it!!! we need things in the guild hall ... the battles are fun but u need alot more people in the guild to do them,....hmm the snow place isnt so great.. there are like 4 openings to get in when fighting and all the doorws can be unlocked from the outside in.... lame. no security but i guess no security for oposing team either
